Developmental Format.

Athletes progress through several levels of competition as they age. These include standard 5v5 and 6v6 flag formats for 5-9 year olds, 7v7 full with fields for 11u, and 8man for 14u.

NFLLU’s mission is to build better student athletes and not just athletes. As such, the league adopts regular academic behavior checks (not just grades) as well as implementing unique game day features such as our academic challenge question extra point.

NFL Leagues United is leading the way for a new generation of youth football. Combining true developmental platforms and academic performance to prepare our young athletes for future success.

Multiple divisions across San Diego County.

NFL Leagues United is a developmental league with a stair-step division model. Each division introduces new and more advanced aspects to the game as our young athletes grow up through the system.

Note that kids may play up in division (age) but not down.
The divisions are:

6v6 JV Ages 5-6

6v6 Varsity Ages 8u

5v5 Ages 10u

7v7 Ages 12u

8 Man Ages 14u
